Innovation can’t be brought to this field if office floor plan is the sole concern, it’s by working shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who design clinics or hotels, for example, that new ideas will arise. That’s why libraries, shop and trade shows are, for us, labs for seeing what can also be done in offices.
Different areas of expertise must open to the input each can offer the other, to allow for a sort of “cross pollination” of ideas out of which can emerge new trends and creativity. The question then becomes how to incorporate these new ideas into the projects. There’s nothing better than encouraging communication between various disciplines!
