Next couple of weeks, many people all over Canada will be wearing red poppies on their clothes honoring the memory of thousands men and women who have died in military service.
On Saturday, November 11, the contributions made by the armed forces are recognized by holding Remembrance Day services. Ceremonies, parades and special church services are organized on that day in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and other Canadian cities.
Veterans and their families are invited to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies and to pay the tribute with two minutes of silence.In Montreal, ceremonies will be held at the Montreal West Cenotaph, in Westmount, Hampstead and Outremont. In Ottawa, a commemorative ceremony will take place at the National War Memorial and will be followed by a Remembrance Day concert. Toronto will be holding several ceremonies at Old City Hall, in East York, Etobicoke, Fort York, North York and York.
